CLEVELAND, Ohio  --  For the first time since police say her former boyfriend, Steve Stephens, murdered an elderly man and then posted the video on Facebook, Joy Lane spoke to Cleveland's WJW on Tuesday.

Lane spoke about the ordeal and what her life has been like for the past 48 hours after Stephens said her name in the disturbing video, according to the Washington Post.

“The hashtags Joy Lane, Joy Lane massacre, I don’t even know who Joy Lane is anymore, or how to pick up all the pieces of my world at this moment,” Lane said. “I’ve got a lot of negative comments. Some even said he should have killed me.”

Lane also said she has received support from many, including her family, her boss, and even strangers like two daughters of 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr., who police say Stephens gunned down on Easter.

Godwin's family reached out to WJW saying they wanted to reassure Lane, and the station set up a meeting Tuesday morning. The three hugged, cried, and prayed.

Tonya R. Godwin-Baines and Debbie D. Godwin said they know Lane did nothing wrong and wanted her to know it.

“I feel bad, the last thing he would have said is my name and he didn’t know me or why he was saying (it),” Lane told the sisters.

Lane said the last time she talked to Stephens was Saturday night and he told her he had quit his job and was moving out of state.

She said she tried to reach him after the video was posted on Facebook but he never answered his phone.

She said the two had dated for a while and even looked at engagement rings at one point.  The two ended up mutually deciding to separate, Lane said, but remained friends. She said even after they parted she was still trying to get him to reach out for help with a gambling habit.

DES MOINES, Iowa  --  After stabbing Kendall Moore--a Des Moines man--to death, Corderro Laurence is in the Polk County Jail facing first degree murder charges.

Corderro Alton Laurence (WHO-HD)

We knocked on apartment 1516 where the stabbing happened, but were turned away by people who live there.

Police say Laurence knew Moore. People who live in the neighborhood are not surprised by this, and say violence is becoming more common in the area.

"I’ve lived here 20 years, since we got married, and everything that happens around here is with someone who knows somebody else," said Des Moines resident Pat Wood.

The owner of a grocery store a block away from the site of the stabbing says during the day she feels safe, but this feeling does not hold true at night.

"Sometimes I am in there cleaning or doing some stuff, but I do not open for anybody,” said Elianne Musabyimana.

Other people who live there say the same.

"I don’t go out a lot at night, you know, I kind of watch my surroundings. Like I said, a lot of it has to do with maybe an argument or something went on personally. I couldn't tell you," said Wood.

No information has yet been released regarding Laurence and Moore's relationship or why the altercation initially began.

JOHNSTON, Iowa  —  The man accused of killing his 34-year-old girlfriend has now been returned to Iowa.

In April, Abraham Roberts, 38, was detained at the U.S. border in International Falls, Minnesota, attempting to cross into Canada after allegedly shooting Agnes Yarlee. He was then held on a $1 million bond in the Koochiching County Jail.

On Tuesday, the Johnston Police Department said Roberts previously waived his right to an extradition hearing, voluntarily agreeing to return to Iowa. The transport was completed on Tuesday, and Roberts is now being held in the Polk County Jail facing first degree murder charges.

He is scheduled to appear in court at the jail on Wednesday morning.

Driver Charged With Murder in Times Square Crash

NEW YORK  —  Moments after barreling his car through the crowded sidewalks in Manhattan’s Times Square, Richard Rojas told a traffic agent, “I wanted to kill them all,” according to a criminal complaint.

A troubled man with a history of drunken driving, Rojas bolted from his maroon Honda Accord after his deadly midday rampage on Thursday that left one person dead and 20 others injured.

Rojas moved unsteadily, his eyes were glassy and his speech slurred after his car crashed to a fiery stop, the complaint said.

“I smoked,” Rojas allegedly told an officer after . He later told another officer, “I smoked marijuana. I laced the marijuana with PCP,” according to the complaint.

One day after allegedly making a U-turn and steering the car into the packed sidewalk for a three-block stretch, the 26-year-old suspect was arraigned on murder and other charges Friday. He did not enter a plea, and his lawyer later declined comment.

One surveillance video showed the car jump the curb and slam into a group of people, sending bodies tumbling over the hood of the speeding car.

Alyssa Elsman, an 18-year-old resident of Portage, Michigan, who was visiting the city, was killed. Authorities reported another 22 people were injured, but police revised the total to 20 on Friday.

Rojas, a Bronx resident who had served in the Navy, tested positive for PCP and told police that God made him do it, a law enforcement source told CNN.

The suspect, who suffered from “psychological issues,” also told police he expected officers to shoot him, according to the source.

A history of mental health issues

Investigators are looking into the suspect’s state of mind and psychological history in an attempt to determine a motive, the NYPD chief of Manhattan South Detectives William Aubry said.

“We’re now hearing from family members [that Rojas] has had demonstrated mental health issues going back to childhood that … went unaddressed even during the time he was in the U.S. military,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio told WNYC Radio Friday.

De Blasio added, “It appears to be intentional in the sense that he was troubled and lashing out. At the root of this … is an untreated mental health issue going back probably decades.”

In addition to the murder charge, Rojas also faces 20 counts of attempted murder, one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and a count of attempted murder in the second degree, according to the criminal complaint.

Three victims were in critical condition Friday, including a 38-year-old Canadian woman whom Aubry described “very critical.”

The injured included Elsman’s 13-year-old sister, Ava, according to Michelle Karpinski of Portage Public Schools.

Elsman was a 2016 graduate of Portage Central High School.

“Alyssa was the type of person who seemed very shy and reserved when you first met her, but once you started talking to her you realized she was smart, funny and engaging,” principal Eric Alburtus said in a statement. “She will be deeply missed by the staff and students here.”

Rojas has been arrested twice in New York — in 2015 and 2008 — for drunken driving, New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill said. In 2013, Rojas — while in the Navy — pleaded guilty to drunken driving, failure to pay a just debt, drunk and disorderly conduct and communicating a threat. A military judge sentenced him to three months confinement.

There is no indication that the incident in Times Square, which unfolded just before noon, was an act of terrorism, de Blasio and other officials said.

Harrowing scene in popular tourist area

Before striking pedestrians, the 2009 Honda Accord was “out of control,” an emergency management official said.

The speeding car jumped the sidewalk on the west side of 7th Avenue at 42nd Street and struck several pedestrians before crashing at the northwest corner of 45th Street, police said.

Witnesses described a harrowing scene that started with screeching tires and ended with screams, chaos and a fiery crash at one of the world’s most visited sites.

Elizabeth Long, of Dayton, Ohio, was walking to the Hard Rock Cafe when she saw a maroon car heading toward her on the sidewalk. Hearing screams and fearing that the car would hit her, she ran to a nearby building’s revolving door.

“I wasn’t even all the way in when the car sped by” about 10 feet away, said Long, a 54-year-old who was in town to see a musical.

When Long went outside, she saw at least six people lying on the ground, including a woman lying face-down with blood pouring from her head.

“I’m shaken,” said Long, who wasn’t injured. “Two of the people I saw that were really hurt, people were beside them … we were trying to tell (police) they were hurt.”

“I felt so bad … standing there,” not being able to do anything more to help, she said.

A tourist from Argentina told CNN affiliate WABC that he was shocked to see the car that “was like bowling, hitting people.”

Witness: Driver was screaming and flailing his arms

Annette Proehl of Pennsylvania was in Times Square with children on a field trip when she heard the screeching tires of the vehicle and people screaming. She watched the car slam into a steel divider and catch fire, she said.

“It was more of a surreal thing,” she said. “We initially thought they were filming something.”

The car was lodged on a steel bollard — of which there are more than 200 on Times Square sidewalks to stop vehicles from coming through.

The car’s windshield was shattered and flames billowed from the hood.

That’s when Planet Hollywood employee Kenya Brandix spotted the driver fleeing from the car. Bradix tackled Rojas to the ground.

“The person just got out of the car,” Brandix told HLN. “He ran across the street, flailing his arms and screaming. No words but just screaming.”

Brandix and others have since been hailed as heroes for helping to restrain the driver.

Iowa Native Recounts Scene of Fatal Times Square Crash

IOWA  --  The driver accused of Thursday's fatal crash into a crowd of people in New York City now says it was intentional.

Richard Rojas says he slammed his car into a sidewalk full of tourists on Thursday morning in Times Square. Eighteen-year-old Alyssa Elsman of Michigan was killed and 20 others were injured.

Jacob Thompson, an Iowa native, works in Times Square for a bus tour company, and said he witnessed the crash and was nearly a victim himself. He remembers the car "zoomed past" and hit other cars before flipping over. He said it initially looked like it was an accident until realizing the speed at which the vehicle was travelling to make it overturn.

The other 20 people injured in the crash are expected to survive.

Rojas is now charged with first degree murder.

Guitar Shop Owner Recounts Strange Encounter with Scott Greene

URBANDALE, Iowa  --  Scott Greene's mother did not want to go on camera on Friday, but when she answered the door, she said off camera that her heart is with the Urbandale and Des Moines Police Departments. In her front yard is an American flag with a blue line flying at half staff.

Paul Wilson owns Ye Olde Guitar Shoppe, located right across the street from the house--the same house that Scott Greene lived in.

"I would say that's just something that's been two months ago (the flag being up), and there seemed to be some older adult, I don't know, relatives or something have been taking care of the grounds and at night there's a blue light display there, more than one light," said Wilson.

Wilson feels for Greene's mother. "You know, it's hard to blame the parents or anybody else for something that a son or a daughter does, but of course you're no doubt gonna feel guilty and responsible, and certainly sorry. If they could turn the clock back they would," said Wilson. "It's like you're wearing a scarlet letter. It's not very fair."

Wilson has had interactions with Scott Greene in the past.

"He had bought a guitar for his daughter that he loves very much and he said the guitar was a very important thing to her and he was appreciative of us," said Wilson.

But another interaction with Greene--that happened just five days before the killings of Officer Justin Martin and Sergeant Anthony Beminio--stands out, and is a bizarre coincidence to say the least.

"He had called the police regarding a truck that was parked in front of his house, and so he was actually the one that alerted the police to the truck, which thwarted the burglary that we had," said Wilson.

Greene had called the cops; Officer Martin was the one who responded.

Wilson said Officer Martin was very helpful. "He was very business-like and we got a lot done and established, and he gave me his business card and so forth, and so I'm sure he had every intention to follow up."

After Officer Martin and the crime team had left the store, Greene came into the shop--an encounter that made Wilson feel uneasy.

"I just, you know, I found him, every now and then your senses tingle, you go, 'this guy's kind of angry. I'm not going to do anything to make him mad.' I don't think it would take much to set him off. We just sort of were polite and we could hardly wait until he left, actually," said Wilson.

Wilson never found out who was responsible for the burglary.

Three Teenagers Arrested in Kidnapping and Killing of 6-Year-Old Boy

Three Mississippi teenagers are accused of killing a 6-year-old boy after stealing the car he was left in.

The child, Kingston Frazier, was left alone in a Toyota Camry in a Kroger parking lot around 1:15 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

The three suspects pulled into the parking lot in a separate car, the Hind's County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. One of them allegedly got into the Camry before both vehicles pulled away. It's not clear whether the driver of the Camry knew the child was in the car.

When Kingston's mother came out of the store, she alerted a nearby sheriff's deputy that her vehicle was missing. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert when it became clear that a child had been inside the stolen vehicle.

Kingston was found dead later Thursday morning in rural Madison County when a passerby noticed the car abandoned on the side of the road and recognized it from the Amber Alert. The boy was shot in the back of the head, Madison County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Heath Hall said.

Dwan Wakefield, D'Allen Washington and Byron McBride -- all in their late teens -- are being held without bond in the Madison County Detention Center, Hall said.

All three will be charged as adults with capital murder for the killing of a child during a kidnapping, District Attorney Michael Guest said in a press conference Thursday. They're also facing auto theft charges in Hinds County, according to the Hinds County Sheriff's Office.

Multiple state and local agencies collaborated on the investigation, including the Jackson Police Department, the Hinds County Sheriff's Office, an dthe Madison County Sheriff's Office.

Campus Killing: Suspect is a Member of ‘Alt-Reich’ Facebook Group, Police Say

MARYLAND  —  A judge has denied bond for a white University of Maryland student accused of fatally stabbing a young black student at a campus bus stop.

Sean Christopher Urbanski, 22, is charged with murder in the death early Saturday of Richard Collins III, 23, a recently commissioned US Army second lieutenant who was due to graduate this week from nearby Bowie State University.

Urbanski is a member of a Facebook group called “Alt-Reich,” which spews hatred toward minorities “and especially African-Americans,” University of Maryland’s police chief, David Mitchell, said.

Given that evidence, the FBI is assisting the investigation as officials try to determine whether the incident may have been a hate crime, the agency announced.

While denying Urbanski bond on Monday, Maryland District Judge Patrice E. Lewis called him “an absolute danger to the community.”

A promising life ends in bizarre encounter

Collins was just three days away from graduating from Bowie State when he went to visit friends at the University of Maryland, the police chief said.

At about 3 a.m. Saturday, Collins and his friends were approached by Urbanski, police said.

Urbanski started yelling bizarre commands at Collins, witnesses said, according to police.

“He said to the victim, ‘Step left, step left if you know what’s good for you,'” the witnesses recalled, according to the police chief.

“The victim looked at him puzzled with the other friends of his and said ‘No,'” Mitchell said. “It was then that (the suspect) stabbed the victim in his chest.”

Collins fell backwards, Mitchell said. His friends tried to help him before university officers arrived and performed CPR, he said. Collins was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Urbanski has been charged with first- and second-degree murder as well as first-degree assault. As of Monday, it was not clear whether the 22-year-old had an attorney.

Maryland State Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks told reporters on Monday that authorities will consider every angle in the investigation, as with all cases.

“Whether or not it’s a hate crime is one of those angles that will be considered,” she said. “I can tell you that at this early stage in this investigation, we do not have enough evidence to say conclusively whether this is a hate crime.”

She said the priority is first completing the homicide investigation before the FBI could determine whether the stabbing is a hate crime, meaning it could be prosecuted on the federal level.

Alsobrooks said: “We assure you that we will work until we get it right, until we have answers to provide to this community.”

‘Alt-Reich’ group now offline

Central to the FBI deciding whether the incident could have been a hate crime is the “Alt-Reich” Facebook page.

“When I looked at the information that’s contained on that website … it’s despicable,” Mitchell said.

“It shows extreme bias against women, Latinos, members of the Jewish faith and especially African-Americans, which brings up questions as to the motive of this case,” he said.

Mitchell said Sunday authorities have not seen a post from Urbanski on the Facebook page, “however, that doesn’t mean it’s not there,” he said.

The Facebook page has since been taken offline.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes and hate groups, said it had not heard of “Alt-Reich” prior to the Maryland killing.

But in recent months, there has been a jump in racist groups naming themselves variations of the term “alt-right,” said Heidi Beirich, director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project.

Grief across two campuses

Collins will be honored Monday evening at a vigil on Bowie State’s campus.

“As we struggle to deal with our emotions, let’s find appropriate ways to express our sorrow and hope for justice,” Bowie State University President Mickey Burnim said in a statement.

“Let’s remember our words and actions have the power to heal and the power to hurt. Let’s strive to use our actions to bring comfort and peace.”

About 10 miles west of Bowie, the killing has “shocked, saddened, and angered our community and beyond,” University of Maryland President Wallace Loh said.

Security has ramped up, with extra police patrols on and off campus and 24-hour video monitoring, he said.

“However, increased police security is not sufficient,” Loh said. “We must all do more to nurture a climate — on campus and beyond — where we stand against hate, we fight against hate crimes, and we reaffirm the values that define us a university and as a democracy.”

‘Already’ someone great

Alsobrooks said Collins was “a person who represented in every way possible the very best of this community.”

“He was already a person who had accomplished so much, more than many of us will accomplish in a whole lifetime,” she said. “And so, it was not just the case that he was going to be a somebody great.

“I want it to be painfully clear that he already was.”

‘Tumultuous Divorce’ Behind Apparent Murder of 5-Year-Old, Officials Say

CALIFORNIA  —  A “tumultuous divorce” led a California man to kill his 5-year-old son in April, investigators said Monday, three days after 35-year-old Aramazd Andressian Sr. was arrested and charged with murder even though his missing son has not been confirmed dead.

Andressian was arrested on one count of murder on Friday and will be arraigned in Los Angeles later this week, where he will face 25 years to life in prison if convicted. Andressian remains in custody and neither he nor his attorney commented publicly Monday, according to local media reports.

His son, Aramazd Andressian Jr., has been missing since he was last seen leaving Disneyland with his father during a weekend outing in April

“My heart is shattered,” Ana Estevez, the missing child’s mother, wrote in a statement read by a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff at Monday’s news conference. “I will miss my son each and every second of every day for the rest of my life.”

Investigators: Mounting evidence

The boy was last seen leaving Disneyland with his father after midnight on April 21. Hours later, the father was found unconscious in a South Pasadena park without his son, saying he did not remember what happened.

After being questioned by police, Andressian spent 47 days in Las Vegas, according to authorities. While there, he shaved the beard he had grown and dyed his hair.

“He was taking part in activities and displaying mannerisms that were not consistent with a grieving parent,” Lt. Joe Mendoza of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told reporters on Monday. He did not elaborate.

But Mendoza added, “We further believe that he was making plans to flee the country to a location where he could not be extradited.”

Officials at the news conference did not elaborate on the divorce of the boy’s parents.

According to Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, the circumstantial evidence surrounding Andressian was enough to arrest him on murder charges even though investigators have still not found his son.

“It may seem unusual to file murder charges when we have not yet found the child’s body,” she said. “But rest assured my office has successfully prosecuted such cases before.”

Medonza said Andressian, in jail since his arrest on Friday, “has not been cooperative whatsoever.”

“As a matter of fact, he has given us information in interviews that were untruths,” Mendoza said.

The search continues

There have been no confirmed sightings of the child since he went missing, Mendoza said Monday.

The search for the 5-year-old spans from Santa Barbara to Pasadena, about a 100 mile stretch, and includes hundreds of law enforcement personnel and volunteers.

Investigators are focusing on a 6½ hour window between when Andressian was seen leaving Disneyland with his son and when he was found in the park.

“My community in South Pasadena, their heart breaks,” South Pasadena Police Chief Arthur Miller said. The boy and his parents lived in the Southern California community, according to local media reports.

“Their heart aches.”

BOWIE, Maryland -- A Maryland man is under arrest after police say he killed his stepfather and then posted photos of himself next to the victim's body.

Police say Navar Beverly told his mother "I told you I would do it" after he allegedly strangled his stepfather, WJLA reports.

Just after 8 a.m. Saturday, Bowie police responded to the home of Ronald Francis Pickney after his wife called saying her son had killed Pickney.

When police arrived, she said that Beverly had admitted to killing Pickney and that he was "dead in the garage."

Pickney's body was found with injuries to his neck. Beverly ran from the home.

Police were on the look-out for Beverly's maroon minivan and eventually found it in the Landover area.

After an attempted traffic stop and brief chase, Beverly crashed the van and ran on foot before police caught up and arrested him.

Detectives said police had been called to the home a month earlier when Beverly and Pickney were fighting; Beverly had his stepfather in a choke hold until a witness stopped him.

Police also found photos Beverly posted on Twitter late Friday night of him alongside the body of his dead stepfather.

The photos have since been removed.

WYOMING, Mich. – A Michigan mother has been charged with murder after she arrived at the hospital with the already-decomposing body of her 6-month-old son, according to court records.

On Monday, 22-year-old Lovily Kristine-Anwonette Johnson was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree child abuse.

Lovily Johnson faces murder and abuse charges after she allegedly brought the decomposing body of her young son to the hospital. (Kent County Jail)

On July 17, Johnson gave Noah a bottle around 10 a.m., strapped him in a car seat and left him upstairs in the home while she smoked marijuana and hung out with friends, an arrest affidavit obtained by WOOD-TV alleges. Police say she left him alone for almost 12 hours and didn't change his diaper.

When Johnson showed up at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital July 19 with Noah's lifeless body, the boy weighed 12 pounds and had severe diaper rash. According to police, the boy's body showed signs he had been dead for a while – glossy eyes, bloated stomach and a strong odor.

About eight hours after Noah was pronounced dead, the temperature inside the upstairs room was over 90 degrees, according to court documents.

Johnson, who also has a 2-year-old daughter, was known to Child Protective Services for several prior incidents. CPS filed a complaint in 2014 after her daughter tested positive for marijuana, according to MLive.com.

On July 3rd, CPS made another complaint after Noah was left alone in her boyfriend's car outside of a video rental store. A responding officer wrote in his report that Johnson "did not appear to care the child was in the vehicle unsupervised and she kept defending why she needed multiple DVDs," according to the paper.

On Friday, officials took the 2-year-old from Johnson and placed her in state care.

Allan’s wife took the photo on Thursday, less than six hours before he was shot and killed while responding to a car crash.

Police say Allan approached a vehicle at the scene when 28-year-old Jason Brown shot him multiple times. Brown was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder in connection with his death. It is unclear why he fired shots at the officer.

The passenger in the car was released and is not facing any charges.

Allan had 20 years of law enforcement experience, and he became one of two full-time officers with the Southport Police Department in January. He leaves behind his wife and two sons.

Southport Police Chief Tom Vaughn says Allan always wanted to be a police officer, and he took his job to heart.

Johnston Murder Suspect’s Trial Rescheduled to 2018

DES MOINES, Iowa – The murder trial of a Johnston man accused of killing his girlfriend and attempting to flee the country has been pushed back to 2018.

Thirty-eight-year-old Abraham Roberts is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 34-year-old Agnes Yarlee. Police were called to the Johnston apartment the pair shared with their children on a domestic call on April 15th after neighbors heard fighting and gunshots. When officers arrived they found Yarlee dead.

Roberts was taken into custody after attempting to cross the border into Canada at International Falls, Minnesota.

Online court records filed last week say Roberts’ trial, which was scheduled to begin next week, has now been set for January 8, 2018. The documents also highlight Roberts’ immigration status, making sure he was aware that if found guilty he could be deported. According to local advocacy group, NISAA African Family Services, Roberts and Yarlee were both originally from Liberia.

Though the attorney for Roberts has not yet served notice of his defense, the document says an anticipated defense of diminished capacity is likely. An October 20th deadline was set for Roberts’ attorney to serve notice of his defense.

Roberts is being held in the Polk County Jail on a bond of $2 million.

‘I Think I Did It:’ North Carolina Man Says He May Have Killed His Wife in His Sleep After Taking Cough Medicine

RALEIGH, N.C. – The male voice on the 911 call sounded flat and slightly confused.

"I think I killed my (wife)," the caller said.

"What do you mean? What happened?" the operator said.

"I had a dream, and then I turned on the lights and she's dead on the floor," he said. "I have blood all over me, and there's a bloody knife on the bed. And I think I did it."

The caller, identified by police as Matthew James Phelps, grew increasingly distraught as he explained that he had taken Coricidin Cough and Cold medicine and awakened to the bloody scene.

"Oh my God," he said, crying. "Why?"

Phelps, 28, has been charged with murder in the September 1 stabbing death of Lauren Ashley-Nicole Phelps, 29, in North Carolina, the Raleigh Police Department said.

Phelps appeared in court on Wednesday and no bond was issued, according to the Wake County Clerk of Court's Office. He could face the death penalty if convicted. His next court appearance is set for September 25.

Joe Cheshire, an attorney for Phelps, said it was a "very tragic" situation but asked that people withhold judgment.

"There's a lot to this story, I believe that will be told in the future," Cheshire said. "But I don't want anything I say to diminish the sadness and sorrow that everyone feels for the death of this lovely young lady."

Cough medicine

In the 911 call, Phelps said he didn't know what time it was or when he had woken up. He said he took "more medicine than I should have" and woke up to the grisly scene.

"I know it can make you feel good, and a lot of times I can't sleep at night, so I took some," he said.

Cough medicines like Coricidin target symptoms of the common cold, and can also cause drowsiness. When abused or taken in high doses, the cough medicine ingredient Dextromethorphan can cause hallucinogenic effects, including "sensations of physical distortion and hallucinations," according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Bayer, the maker of Coricidin, released a statement extending its "deepest sympathies" to the family.

"Patient safety is our top priority, and we continually monitor adverse events regarding all of our products," the company said. "There is no evidence to suggest that Coricidin is associated with violent behavior."

Ft. Dodge Murder Suspect Pleads ‘Not Guilty’

FORT DODGE, Iowa —  It was short day in court for Mackenzie Knigge, lasting less than five minutes.

Knigge was brought back to Iowa from Indiana in early September to face a murder charge in the death of 26-year-old Jessica Gomez.

Her lawyer read the plea of not guilty. Knigge also waived her right to speedy trial, which is common in murder cases.

The criminal complaint in the case says Webster County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Knigge’s apartment in Clare on August 7th after receiving a report of a large amount of blood found in the residence. A deputy observed the blood and “other items consistent with a homicide and attempts to conceal evidence of a homicide.”

Twenty-five-year-old Phillip Williams of Lafayette, Indiana is also charged with murder in the case.

After a search warrant was obtained the Division of Criminal Investigation processed the scene. Investigators observed, “it appears a body was pulled over the edge of the bathtub onto a surface other than the bathroom floor, in order to remove the body from the residence without spreading additional blood throughout the residence.”

The complaint says Knigge and Williams, who were in a relationship with each other, tried to obtain items like bleach and plastic bags from friends in the early morning hours of August 5th. They then went to Wal-Mart in Fort Dodge and purchased latex gloves, bleach, plastic sheeting, and facemasks.

Williams also later purchased a fuel container after an associate bought him one he indicated “was not large enough” for his purposes.

On August 10th, Mackenzie Knigge was arrested in Layfayette, Indiana following a traffic stop. Williams was arrested the following day on an outstanding warrant in Bloomington, Indiana.

The burned body of Jessica Gomez was discovered in a field August 12th near Clare.

Knigge and Williams were charged with murder on August 14th.

Officials say Knigge was friends with Gomez, and Williams was also having a relationship with Gomez.

Gomez’ brother, Shawn Halber, spoke after the arraignment and he said that with each new piece of information coming out, it feels more and more like a crime television show than real life.

“I have a lot of questions, ya know. Those questions will never arise and never be answered. I just have to live with the fact that, I just have to accept the fact that I might not be able to know these answers. Do I even want to know these answers? I don’t know,” said Shawn Halber.

She is being held on a $1 million bond in the Webster County Jail. Williams remains in the Tippecanoe County County Jail in Indiana.

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa police have arrested two men and are looking for a third after an 18-year-old was found beaten to death following an anonymous police tip Tuesday night, according to KOTV.

Investigators believe Dearld Peal, 46, and Tracy Price, 40, killed 18-year-old Anthony Pietrzak after they got into an argument Sept. 22. Authorities are now looking for a third man who may have taken part in what witnesses told police was a “brutal attack.”

When officers arrested Peal, he allegedly told them that his daughter, who was the victim’s girlfriend, complained that Pietrzak was abusing her.

“I don’t know if they were just gonna teach him a lesson and it got way out of hand,” Tulsa Sergeant Dave Walker told the station. “Reports are that he was fighting for his life and he lost.”

Police found Pietrzak’s body in a field Thursday; investigators believe the three suspects hogtied him and threw him off the back of a pickup truck.

Peal and Price were arrested and charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder. The daughter hasn’t been arrested and police aren’t revealing her identity.

Police are asking anyone with information about the third suspect to call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS (2677).
